Connex Education is working with a mainstream primary school in the Redcar area who are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work full-time as a 1:1 Support, working with a child with SEND needs within the school's special needs base. You MUST have the right to work in the UK to apply for this role.
This primary school based in the Redcar area seeks a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and group session support for pupils with additional needs. You’ll work closely with the SENCO, contribute to education health care plans, and join a supportive team of specialists. The role involves working with individuals and small groups in a nurturing environment focused on helping every child thrive. You must be comfortable working with children aged 4-11.
Assignment Details:
- This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, the right candidate MUST be able to work from 8:30am – 3:30pm.
- Experience working with special needs is essential for this role; however, we will also consider care experience and nursery-based experience.
- This role is ongoing and is to start in September 2026.

Person Specification:
- Hold a Relevant Qualification in SEND or Teaching Assistant – desirable
- Have experience of supporting pupils in a school or similar setting
- Be confident working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Good Knowledge of different types of Special Needs
- Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one with Connex
