Supporting children and young people across specialist SEND settings.

Location: Radstock

Pay: £93 – £110 per day PAYE

Start Date: September 2026

Connex Education Partnership is looking for compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic Specialist Education Support Workers to join our SEND supply team across Radstock and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for people with backgrounds in education, care, support work, youth work, residential settings or specialist SEND provision who want to make a genuine difference to children and young people. Whether you want flexible day-to-day work across different specialist schools, a consistent long-term placement or the opportunity to move into a permanent role, we can offer opportunities to suit you.

Your Role

As a Specialist Education Support Worker, you’ll work alongside teachers and specialist staff to provide individualised support, encouragement and care to pupils with additional and complex needs. You may support pupils with:

  • ASC & Autism
  • SEMH
  • SLD / PMLD
  • Complex Needs
  • Communication Needs
  • Sensory Needs
  • Physical & Medical Needs
  • Challenging Behaviour

Your day could involve:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Helping pupils access their individualised curriculum
  • Supporting communication and interaction
  • Encouraging independence and life skills
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Helping pupils manage transitions and changes
  • Supporting sensory and therapeutic activities
  • Assisting with personal care where required
  • Responding calmly to challenging or distressed behaviour
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Working alongside teachers, therapists and specialist professionals
  • Following individual education, care and support plans
  • Creating a safe, calm and nurturing environment
