Psychology Graduate – SEND Teaching Assistant

Sheffield

£90 -£95 per day depending on experience

Hours – 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday

About the School

Connex Education is working with a SEND school based in Sheffield who are recruiting for a Psychology Graduate to work as a SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. This could be a temp to perm if you are the right candidate. The school caters for ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, MLD and ASC pupils for all ages.

About the Role

  • Provide guidance and support to individuals in a mentoring relationship.
  • Help pupils set and achieve personal and academic goals.
  • Share knowledge and expertise in a specific field or area of interest.
  • Assist pupils in developing new skills and overcoming challenges.
  • Act as a role model and provide positive reinforcement to pupils.
  • Foster a supportive and trusting relationship with a range of pupils.

You will Need:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Active listening skills to understand individual pupils’ needs and concerns.
  • Empathy and the ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with pupils.
  • Patience and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
