About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting Supply Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Chaddesden, Spondon, Oakwood and the wider DE21 area. Whether you’re looking for work immediately or planning ahead for September, we have flexible opportunities available to suit your availability. You’ll support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, working alongside class teachers to help children stay engaged, build confidence and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Assist the class teacher with lesson activities and classroom routines.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
- Help pupils access learning and reach their full potential.
- Support pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs where required.
Assignment Details
- Immediate and September 2026 starts available.
- Flexible full-time and part-time opportunities.
- Day-to-day supply, short-term and long-term placements.

Person Specification
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Recent UK experience working with children (school-based experience preferred).
- Confidence supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, patient approach.
- A reliable, flexible attitude and the ability to adapt to different school environments.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
