Supply Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools Allestree, Mackworth and Surrounding Areas (DE22) £450–£500 per week (PAYE, paid weekly). To apply, you must have the right to work in the UK.

About the Role

Connex Education is working with a number of primary schools across DE22 and the surrounding areas who are looking to recruit Supply Teaching Assistants to support on a flexible basis. Demand for Teaching Assistants remains high, with opportunities available immediately across a range of local primary schools. Whether you are looking for flexible work, a longer-term placement, or additional classroom experience, we are currently able to offer a variety of opportunities across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. With schools requiring support throughout the remainder of the academic year, there are opportunities available now, alongside schools already beginning to consider staffing requirements for September 2026.

You will be supporting pupils both within the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping them remain engaged, build confidence, and access learning in a positive and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson activities and classroom routines
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement within lessons
  • Helping pupils stay focused and involved throughout the school day
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs where required

Person Specification

  • Recent UK-based experience working with children within a school or nursery setting
  • Comfortable supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, professional approach
  • Reliable and able to adapt to different school environments
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
