About the Opportunity

Connex Education are recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Teaching Assistants to support a range of welcoming primary schools across Portishead and nearby areas. We have flexible opportunities available including day-to-day supply, short-term cover, and long-term placements beginning in September 2026. We are proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded Multi-Academy Trust across the Southwest. The Trust is known for its supportive leadership teams, inclusive approach to education, and commitment to staff development and pupil wellbeing.

This position is ideal for anyone looking to gain valuable classroom experience and begin a rewarding career within education. As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, helping to create engaging and positive learning experiences.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils within the classroom environment
  • Working with children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities
  • Encouraging pupil participation and confidence
  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
