Connex Education is seeking enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils within primary schools across Bristol from September 2026. We have opportunities available on a flexible supply, short-term, and long-term basis, supporting children with a variety of additional needs. Working closely with teaching staff and SEND teams, you will play an important role in helping pupils access learning and reach their full potential. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable school-based experience while making a positive impact on children's educational development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support for pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks
- Support children with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Encourage positive engagement and participation in lessons
- Promote independence and confidence within the classroom
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SEND professionals
- Support pupil wellbeing and personal development
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is desirable
- Backgrounds in education, childcare, youth work, or care settings are advantageous
- Compassionate and patient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Flexible and proactive attitude
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
