Salary: £140 – £233 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

Connex Education is recruiting passionate ECTs and experienced RE Teachers for opportunities starting in September 2026. We are currently supporting a number of friendly and inclusive secondary schools across Nailsea and the surrounding areas, with roles available on both a short-term and long-term basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic RE Teachers looking to further their career within supportive school environments that value high-quality teaching, inclusion, and pupil achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Teach a broad RE curriculum, encouraging critical thinking, discussion, and understanding of different religions, beliefs, and ethical issues
  • Adapt teaching and learning activities to support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Create a positive and purposeful learning environment that promotes respect, reflection, and good behaviour
  • Use effective questioning, discussion-based learning, and differentiated activities to make RE lessons accessible and engaging
  • Assess progress, provide constructive feedback, and support pupil development in Religious Education
  • Build positive working relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to promote learning and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred, although strong secondary teaching experience in Religious Education will also be considered
  • A passionate and engaging teaching style with confidence in delivering RE lessons
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Religious Education curriculum
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the classroom
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education
