About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting psychology students and graduates to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in our partnered mainstream primary schools across Nailsea and the surrounding areas from September 2026. This role is ideal for aspiring educational psychologists, therapists, counsellors, teachers, or anyone looking to gain practical experience in SEND, mental health, child development, behaviour, and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist teachers with accessible learning activities and classroom routines
- Support communication, emotional regulation, confidence, behaviour, and independence
- Work with class teachers and SENCOs to meet individual pupil needs and EHCP targets
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Psychology degree, psychology studies, or strong interest in SEND, mental health, child development, behaviour, or education
- Experience with children or young people is desirable
- Patient, caring, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
- Right to work in the UK
