About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work in secondary schools across Wythenshawe. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes when teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across all key stages (KS3 and KS4) in the absence of subject teachers
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain on task
- Maintain classroom discipline and promote positive behaviour
- Support students with their learning and answer questions where appropriate
- Take accurate registers and report any concerns to relevant staff
- Assist with general school duties as required
- Follow school policies and procedures at all times
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (including English and Maths)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage with young people aged 11-16
- Confident classroom presence and behaviour management skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different subjects
- Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
