We are working in partnership with a number of welcoming primary schools across Stockport and the surrounding areas that are looking to appoint enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants for long-term and permanent roles. From Early Years to Key Stage 2, we’ll match you with a school that suits your experience, strengths and career aspirations. Level 2 Teaching Assistants with relevant school-based experience are also encouraged to apply.

Your Role

  • Providing classroom support across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small intervention groups
  • Helping children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning
  • Assisting with lesson preparation and creating engaging learning environments
  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional learning and SEND needs
  • Working closely with teachers to ensure every child reaches their full potential

Full-time opportunities are available Monday to Friday (8:30am–3:30pm), with many schools looking to offer permanent contracts to the right candidates.

We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

Essential
  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 applicants with relevant experience are also welcome)
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above), or equivalent
  • Experience supporting pupils within a UK primary school (including placements)
  • A current DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Connex Education
