About our Schools

One of our specialist partner schools, supports students aged 11-19 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The school provides an inclusive and supportive learning environment for pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including:

  • Severe, Profound and Complex Learning Difficulties
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties
  • Generic Learning Difficulties
  • Social Communication Difficulties
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Pupils may require support with

  • Cognition and learning needs
  • Communication and interaction, including Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Sensory and physical disabilities, including Visual Impairment (VI), Hearing Impairment (HI) and Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI)

About Our SEND Opportunities

We also work with a variety of specialist schools and alternative provisions supporting children and young people aged 2-19, including settings specialising in:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Physical Disabilities
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)

We also support an alternative educational academy for primary-aged pupils (Years 1-6) with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

These pupils attend following permanent exclusion or because they are at significant risk of exclusion from mainstream education.

The school provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils receive personalised support to improve behaviour, rebuild confidence and successfully re-engage with education before transitioning back into mainstream or specialist provision.

Your Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you may

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis
  • Deliver small group interventions
  • Assist teachers with classroom learning
  • Encourage independence, communication and social development
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Provide personal care where required
  • Help pupils achieve their individual EHCP outcomes

Person Specification

We're looking for candidates who

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs, either within schools or similar settings.
  • Have experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH, SLD, PMLD, ADHD or complex needs.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Are calm, patient and resilient when managing challenging behaviours.
  • Are happy to provide personal care where required.
  • Can follow EHCP targets, behaviour plans and individual support strategies.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
