School Support Worker

About the role:

Connex Education are working with a SEND School in Liverpool who are looking for local support workers who are interested in working in Education as a SEND Teaching Assistant. The School caters for pupils 11-19 years with complex SEND needs. They are seeking support workers who have experience working in residential homes, hospitals or as a personal assistant.

About the School:

This School caters for pupils aged 11-19 years who have complex SEND including Autism.. They have fantastic on-site facilities and all staff work together to provide students with a calm and eganging learning envirnment alongside promoting independence.

As a Support Worker you will have transferable skills and we will provide you with CPD to help transition your skills into Education.

Assignment details:

This School Support Worker role will commence 3rd September 2026, this is a full time role. The hours consist of working 8.45am-3.45pm. This role is temp to perm.

Person specification:

  • Experience of supporting children or adults as a Support Worker
  • A genuine passion of wanting to help children develop and succeed
  • A good understanding of Special Needs and how to provide a child-centered approach
  • Be willing to provide personal care.
  • Be able to work as a team with other class TA's to help create a calm and engaging learning environment.
  • The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils
  • Confident in dealing with challenging behaviour, identifying triggers and using de-escalation techniques.
  • Be willing to adapt and move around classrooms if needed
  • Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
