About the Role
Connex Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington to recruit a Level 3 Qualified Early Years Practitioner to join their Nursery team. This is a term-time only position, working full-time hours within the school day. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the learning, development, and care of children in the early years setting, working closely with the Nursery Teacher and wider EYFS team to create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for all children.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum through engaging and child-centred activities
- Provide a warm, caring, and structured environment where children can thrive
- Observe, assess, and contribute to planning for individual learning journeys
- Promote positive interactions, behaviour, and communication
- Work closely with parents, carers, and colleagues to support children’s development
- Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare, and hygiene are maintained

- Term-time only (school holidays off)

Person Specification
- Level 3 Early Years Qualification – essential
- Experience working with Nursery or early years-aged children
- Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
- A nurturing, enthusiastic, and flexible approach
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex
