About the Role

Connex Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington to recruit a Level 3 Qualified Early Years Practitioner to join their Nursery team. This is a term-time only position, working full-time hours within the school day. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the learning, development, and care of children in the early years setting, working closely with the Nursery Teacher and wider EYFS team to create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for all children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum through engaging and child-centred activities
  • Provide a warm, caring, and structured environment where children can thrive
  • Observe, assess, and contribute to planning for individual learning journeys
  • Promote positive interactions, behaviour, and communication
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and colleagues to support children’s development
  • Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare, and hygiene are maintained

  • Term-time only (school holidays off)
  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday

Person Specification

  • Level 3 Early Years Qualification – essential
  • Experience working with Nursery or early years-aged children
  • Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • A nurturing, enthusiastic, and flexible approach
  • Strong team player with good communication skills
  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex
