How to prepare for a job interview at Connex Education
✨Know Your SEN Stuff
Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Be ready to discuss specific strategies you've used in the past to support students with these needs. This shows that you’re not just familiar with the terms but have practical experience.
✨Showcase Your Empathy
During the interview, highlight your ability to connect with students on a personal level. Share examples of how you've built rapport and motivated students who may struggle with engagement. This is crucial for a role that requires patience and understanding.
✨Prepare for Scenario Questions
Expect to be asked about hypothetical situations you might face as a SEN Tutor. Think about how you would adapt lesson plans or handle challenging behaviours. Practising these scenarios can help you articulate your thought process clearly during the interview.
✨Engage with the Interviewers
Don’t forget that interviews are a two-way street! Prepare some thoughtful questions about their approach to SEN tutoring and how they support their tutors. This not only shows your interest but also helps you gauge if the role is the right fit for you.
