Location: Somerset

Salary: 93 110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Start Date: September 2026

About the Role

Connex Education is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support pupils within mainstream primary schools across Somerset, including Taunton, Bridgwater, Yeovil, Frome, Street, Wells, Glastonbury, Burnham-on-Sea, and the surrounding areas, from September 2026. We are looking for individuals interested in a mixture of flexible day-to-day supply work, short-term placements, and long-term opportunities, providing targeted classroom and pastoral support for pupils with additional needs within inclusive primary settings. Connex have partnered with a large Multi Academy Trust as well as working with local primary schools in your area - more schools and more opportunities to work in!

This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while gaining valuable experience in supportive local primary schools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN throughout the school day
  • Support pupils in accessing learning activities and classroom routines
  • Use supportive strategies to meet pupils' communication, interaction, emotional, and learning needs
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive engagement
