About the role:

Connex Education are working with a SEND School in Knowsley who are looking for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to support in a range of classes throughout the School. The School caters for pupils aged 2-19 years with SLD, ASC, PMLD, sensory and complex needs.

This School has fantastic facilities that foster a child-centered approach that promotes individual achievements and independence. All staff support pupils into adulthood, working closely with parents and adopting a multi-agency approach with nurses, therapists, social workers and positive behaviour teams.

Assignment details:

This SEND Teaching Assistant role will commence in September 2026, this is a full-time role. The hours consist of working 8.30am-3.30pm. This role will be for the whole academic year and there is a chance of a direct contract.

Person specification:

  • Experience of supporting pupils with complex needs
  • Be able to manage behaviour and foster a positive learning environment
  • Be adaptable and able to quickly build a trusting relationship with pupils
  • Able to work well as a team
  • Able to communicate well and be patient
  • Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
