About the role

Connex Education is recruiting for a Qualified Teacher to work on a one to one basis with a student who is not able to attend school due to their severe special needs. The student has multiple diagnosis’ including autism. The student is non verbal and has poor communication and interaction therefore a sensory based curriculum is vital.

Tuition will be based in the students home where a parent is present.

As a Home Tutor, it is essential that you have a dynamic teaching style and can identify areas of improvement required when working on a 1:1 basis.

Assignment Details

This role will start September and will be on an long term basis until the end of the academic year.

Person Specification

  • QTS or equivalent.
  • Strong ability to engage and motivate SLD students
  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Driving license (Preferred).
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to apply for a new one.
  • An outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations.
