About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Design & Technology graduate to join our successful and supportive Design & Technology Department. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is passionate about inspiring young people and wishes to pursue a career in teaching. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake the school’s internal teacher training programme, which is designed to support graduates in developing the skills, knowledge and professional competencies required to become an effective classroom practitioner. The programme combines practical teaching experience with structured professional development and expert mentoring from experienced colleagues. Upon successful completion of the training programme and all associated assessment requirements, the candidate will be awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), providing a recognised pathway into a rewarding and successful teaching career.
Role Requirements
- Previous experience of covering Design & Technology within a secondary mainstream setting
- Degree in specialist subject (Design & Technology) desirable
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required
- Strong communication skills, both with pupils and staff
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children (an enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one through Connex Education, is required)
