About the Role
Connex Education is looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Unqualified Teaching Assistants in primary schools across Bristol from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a career in education or looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a busy and diverse city school setting. We have a range of opportunities available, including flexible daily supply work, short-term placements, and longer-term assignments. Working in supportive Bristol primary schools, you will help pupils engage in learning and contribute to their educational journey while developing your own skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to encourage participation
- Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials
- Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
- Build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
Person Specification
- Experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential
- Suitable backgrounds may include childcare, coaching, youth work, customer service, tutoring, mentoring, or care work
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and professional approach
- Passion for supporting children to achieve their best
