About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting passionate and adaptable Secondary Supply Teachers for opportunities starting in September 2026. We are currently supporting a number of friendly and inclusive secondary schools across Gloucestershire, with roles available on both a short‑term and long‑term basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic Secondary Supply Teachers looking to further their career within supportive school environments that value high‑quality teaching, inclusion, and pupil achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons across a range of secondary subjects and year groups, in line with school planning.
- Maintain continuity of learning by following lesson plans and adapting teaching where required to meet pupils’ needs.
- Adapt teaching and learning activities to support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
- Create a positive and purposeful learning environment that promotes curiosity, discussion, and good behaviour.
- Use effective classroom management, questioning, and differentiated activities to keep pupils engaged and on task.
- Provide feedback to school staff where appropriate and support pupils’ progress during your placement.
- Build positive working relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to promote learning and wellbeing.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred; strong secondary teaching experience also considered.
- A flexible, confident and engaging teaching style with the ability to adapt quickly to different school settings.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to deliver high‑quality learning experiences across the secondary phase.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within the classroom.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
