Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.
  • Inspire students through engaging and interactive lessons that develop historical, geographical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Encourage students to develop analytical, research, and communication skills across the Humanities curriculum.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and follow school safeguarding procedures.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred, but we also welcome applications from:
  • Unqualified teachers with strong secondary Humanities teaching experience.
  • Trainee teachers due to achieve QTS.
  • Graduates with a degree in a Humanities‑related subject (such as History, Geography, Religious Education, Politics, Sociology, or Archaeology) with relevant classroom or teaching experience and looking to begin their teaching career.

A genuine passion for Humanities and helping young people achieve their full potential. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. A commitment to safeguarding, equality, inclusion, and diversity in education.
