About the Role:

We are seeking passionate and dedicated EYFS Tutors to provide personalised, face-to-face learning support for young children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This role involves working with children who may have a range of additional needs and early developmental delays, offering targeted, child-led interventions to build the foundations of lifelong learning.

As an EYFS Tutor, you will play a vital role in a child’s early education journey by creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to positively influence children\’s cognitive, social, and emotional development at a crucial stage of their lives.

Our ideal candidates will have experience working in early years settings and a sound understanding of the EYFS framework, as well as a nurturing, adaptable, and patient approach.

The children you may support may include those with:
  • SEN/SEMH needs

  • Speech, language, and communication delays

  • Low confidence or poor early learning engagement

  • Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

  • Looked-After Children (LAC) or those in vulnerable circumstances

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging one-on-one or small group EYFS sessions in person

  • Build warm, trusting relationships with young children and their families

  • Provide early learning support across key EYFS areas (e.g., communication and language, personal/social development, phonics, early numeracy)

  • Create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment tailored to each child’s stage and interests

  • Track developmental progress and provide simple feedback to families and/or professionals

  • Adapt teaching and play-based activities to meet each child’s individual needs

Qualifications:
  • Recognised Early Years or Teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, EYTS, Level 3 Early Years Educator)

  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and child development

  • Prior experience working with children aged 3–5 in educational or childcare settings

  • SEN/SEMH experience is highly desirable

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Creative, patient, and child-led approach

Requirements:
  • Relevant qualification in education or early years

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Ability to travel locally within Leeds

  • Flexibility to deliver sessions between Monday and Friday

  • Experience working with young children with additional needs
