Connex Education is partnering with exceptional mainstream primary schools across the Redcar area, seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant with proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs. This full-time position focuses specifically on our youngest learners in their crucial early years development.

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant specializing in SEN support, you’ll join compassionate educational teams committed to meeting the diverse needs of all pupils. You’ll work closely with experienced teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to create meaningful learning experiences.
Position Overview
Immediate start available – This full-time EYFS-focused role runs Monday through Friday, requiring complete weekday availability. You’ll be working specifically within Early Years settings, supporting children aged 3-5 years, with particular emphasis on those with additional learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- EYFS Curriculum Delivery – Supporting learning through play-based activities
- SEN Support – Implementing individual learning plans and targeted interventions
- Inclusive Practice – Adapting activities to meet diverse learning needs
- Observation & Assessment – Contributing to pupil progress tracking and SEND reviews
- Collaborative Working – Partnering with teachers, parents, and external professionals
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- EYFS experience – Demonstrable background in early years education
- SEN expertise – Comfortable and experienced working with children with additional needs
- Understanding of SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies
- Availability for full-time Monday-Friday positions
- Patience and empathy – Natural ability to support vulnerable learners
- Current DBS clearance or willingness to obtain through Connex
