Role: Cover Supervisor
Location: Alfreton, Derbyshire
Duration: Temporary, Day to Day
Start Date: April 2026
Rate of Pay: TBD upon application
School Details: This is a popular school serving the local community and deservedly earning an exceptional reputation. The school is graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted, a grading that it has comfortably held for well over a decade. The school is based in a picturesque location south of Alfreton. It is easily accessible by car and public transport from Derby and Alfreton.
Vacancy Details:
- This is an ad hoc role that can fluctuate week by week
- To provide cover and support in the absence of class teachers
- To ensure that pupils are kept in a safe environment during (and before and after) their lessons
- To uphold and enforce the school disciplinary procedures
- To ensure that the returning teacher is given necessary feedback from the lessons covered, such as behavioural concerns, rewards issued etc
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience of working as a cover supervisor, or in alternative school based positions, such as a teacher or teaching assistant
- Full demonstrable knowledge of school safeguarding procedures, as well as confirmation that you have read the most recent version of KCSIE
- Experience of following school behaviour policies, including rewards and sanctions
- Full enhanced DBS certificate
- Completion of the Connex Education Onboarding Process
- The ability to show a genuine desire and passion for working as a teaching assistant
- A minimum of 2 school based references
