About the Role
- Connex Education is looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as
- Unqualified Teaching Assistants across primary schools in
Portishead, Nailsea and Clevedon from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a career in education or looking to gain further classroom experience.
We have a range of opportunities available, including flexible daily supply work, short-term placements, and longer-term assignments.
You will have the opportunity to work across different primary school settings while developing your skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to encourage participation.
- Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
- Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
- Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
Person Specification
Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people is essential.
- Experience within a school, childcare, youth work, coaching, tutoring, or care setting is beneficial.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, adaptable, and professional approach.
- Passion for supporting children to achieve their best.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through Connex Education.
- Right to work in the UK.
