About the Role

Connex Education is proud to be working exclusively with a respected Multi Academy Trust supporting a range of primary schools across BANES, including Radstock, Midsomer Norton and Chew Magna. We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Primary Teaching Assistants to support schools on both a day-to-day supply basis and within short-term and long-term placements starting from September 2026. These rewarding roles will involve working across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing general classroom support alongside targeted 1:1 and small group interventions depending on the needs of each school. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s learning, development, and confidence within a positive school environment.

Person Specification

  • Experience working with children aged 4–11 within a UK primary school setting
  • Strong communication and positive behaviour management skills
  • Good understanding of classroom routines and the primary curriculum
  • Knowledge of Phonics and Read, Write Inc. is desirable
  • Organised, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning
  • Experience supporting children with SEND would be desirable but not required
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Connex Education
  • Right to work in the UK
