About the Role

Are you studying Psychology or have recently graduated and are looking to gain valuable experience working with young people? Connex Education is recruiting enthusiastic Psychology students and graduates to work in secondary schools across Cheltenham and the surrounding areas from September 2026 through to July 2027. Whether you’re looking for full-time work after graduating or part-time work alongside your studies, we offer flexible opportunities to suit your availability, with roles available between 3 and 5 days per week. You’ll have the opportunity to work as either a Teaching Assistant, supporting students both in and out of the classroom, or a Cover Supervisor, delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher. No previous school experience is required – full training will be provided before you start. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Teaching, Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Youth Work, or other child-focused professions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in the classroom, both individually and in small groups.
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons as a Cover Supervisor when required.
  • Encourage student engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Build positive relationships with students and school staff.
  • Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
