Pay: Β£150-Β£250 per day PAYE

About the Role

Connex Education Partnership is looking for PSHE SEND Teachers to support pupils across specialist SEND schools and provisions in Cheltenham and the surrounding areas.

This is a great opportunity for a teacher who can make PSHE practical, accessible and meaningful for pupils with additional needs.

You’ll help young people develop the skills they need beyond the classroom, from emotional wellbeing and relationships to independence, communication and preparing for adult life.

What You Could Teach

Depending on the setting, PSHE may include:

  • Emotional wellbeing and self-awareness
  • Relationships, friendships and social skills
  • Communication and managing emotions
  • Personal safety and healthy choices
  • Independence and life skills
  • Citizenship and understanding the wider community
  • Online safety
  • Careers, aspirations and preparation for adulthood
  • Practical skills for everyday life

The Pupils

You may teach pupils with:

Autism / ASC | SEMH | ADHD | SLD | PMLD | Communication needs | Sensory needs | Complex learning needs

Some pupils may need additional support with communication, emotional regulation, social interaction or independence, so lessons will need to be adapted to suit individual abilities.

Your Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging PSHE lessons
  • Make learning practical and relevant
  • Adapt resources and activities to individual needs
  • Build positive relationships with pupils
  • Encourage discussion, confidence and independence
  • Support social and emotional development
  • Use visual, practical and differentiated approaches
  • Work alongside Teaching Assistants and specialist staff

What We're Looking For

  • QTS is essential
  • Experience teaching PSHE, Citizenship, Life Skills or similar is desirable
  • SEND experience is advantageous
  • Ability to adapt lessons for different learning profiles
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • A creative, patient and inclusive approach
