Connex Education is working in partnership with local primary schools to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated KS1 Teachers for opportunities starting in September 2026. We are particularly looking for teachers with a strong understanding of Key Stage 1 teaching, including phonics, early reading, writing, mathematics and developing confident, independent learners. What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons across the KS1 curriculum
- Support pupils’ development in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Manage behaviour calmly and consistently
- Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff
- Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
- Follow school policies and contribute to the wider school community

Person Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending QTS
- Recent teaching experience, placements or strong subject knowledge within Key Stage 1
- A good understanding of the KS1 curriculum, particularly phonics, early reading, writing and mathematics
- Knowledge of effective assessment and classroom practice
- A calm, positive approach to behaviour management
- The ability to create engaging, inclusive learning environments
- Excellent communication skills, reliability and a flexible approach to working across different school settings
- A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex Education
