Location: Birmingham
Pay: £750 – £1,125 per week (variable rate)

About the role

Connex Education is recruiting for a passionate and experienced BSL Tutor to provide one-to-one tuition for a student who is currently unable to access mainstream education. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by using your skills in British Sign Language to support learning, communication, and personal development.

Tuition will take place in the student’s home, with a parent or guardian present. Sessions are tailored to the individual’s needs, focusing on building confidence, developing communication, and supporting their educational progress.

Assignment Details:

  • Starts September 2025

  • Long-term role until the end of the academic year

  • Tuition takes place in the student’s home, with a parent present

What You’ll Need:

  • QTS or equivalent (HLTA/experienced LSA considered)

  • Strong BSL skills (minimum Level 3)

  • Experience using PECS is essential

  • Confident working with SLD and non-verbal students

  • A resilient and calm approach, even when things get challenging

  • A valid enhanced DBS (on the update service or willing to apply)

  • Driving licence preferred but not essential

  • A real passion for helping young learners thrive
