Salary: £140 – £233 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

Connex Education is recruiting passionate ECTs and experienced Science Teachers for opportunities starting in September 2026. We are currently supporting a number of friendly and inclusive secondary schools across Bristol, with roles available on both a short-term and long-term basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic Science Teachers looking to further their career within supportive school environments that value high-quality teaching, inclusion, and pupil achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Teach a broad Science curriculum, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics
  • Adapt teaching and learning activities to support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Create a positive and purposeful classroom environment that promotes curiosity, resilience, and good behaviour
  • Use effective questioning, practical investigations, and demonstrations to make scientific concepts accessible and engaging
  • Mark work, assess progress, and provide constructive feedback to support pupil achievement in Science
  • Build positive working relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to promote learning and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred, although strong secondary teaching experience in Science will also be considered
  • A passionate and engaging teaching style with confidence in delivering Science lessons
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the classroom
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education
