About the Role

Connex Education is seeking experienced and dedicated Primary SEN Teachers to work across a range of specialist educational settings in Bristol, supporting pupils at KS1 and KS2 with a variety of Special Educational Needs. This role involves delivering high-quality, highly personalised teaching and learning for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated needs, alongside a range of other developmental and learning differences. You will be working across specialist SEN primary settings, supporting pupils across different year groups and contributing to consistent, structured and nurturing learning environments that promote engagement, communication, emotional wellbeing and independence. This is a flexible opportunity offering day-to-day supply, short-term placements and long-term roles, depending on your availability and preference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across KS1 and KS2
  • Plan and adapt learning to meet individual EHCP targets and developmental needs
  • Support pupils with Autism and additional SEN needs in a structured environment
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants to deliver consistent and high-quality support
  • Promote communication development, social interaction and emotional regulation
  • Create a calm, predictable and inclusive classroom environment
  • Track, assess and report on pupil progress where required (long-term roles)
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and school staff to ensure consistent provision
  • Support pupils to build independence and achieve meaningful outcomes

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working in a special school or SEN setting
  • Strong understanding of Autism and associated SEND needs
  • Knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
  • Experience in planning, assessment, and behaviour/classroom management (for long-term roles)
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and positive in challenging situations
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply through Connex Education
  • Right to work in the UK
