About the Role

Connex Education is recruiting passionate ECTs and experienced Geography Teachers for opportunities starting in September 2026. We are currently supporting a number of friendly and inclusive secondary schools across Bristol, with roles available on both a short-term and long-term basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic Geography Teachers looking to further their career within supportive school environments that value high-quality teaching, inclusion, and pupil achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Teach a broad Geography curriculum, encouraging geographical enquiry, fieldwork skills, and understanding of human and physical processes
  • Adapt teaching and learning activities to support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Create a positive and purposeful learning environment that promotes curiosity, discussion, and good behaviour
  • Use effective questioning, maps, data interpretation, and differentiated activities to make Geography lessons accessible and engaging
  • Assess progress, provide constructive feedback, and support pupil development in Geography
  • Build positive working relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to promote learning and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred, although strong secondary teaching experience in Geography will also be considered
  • A passionate and engaging teaching style with confidence in delivering Geography lessons
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Geography curriculum
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the classroom
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education
