About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting passionate ECTs and experienced DT Teachers for opportunities starting in September 2026. We are currently supporting a number of friendly and inclusive secondary schools across Bristol, with roles available on both a short-term and long-term basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic DT Teachers looking to further their career within supportive school environments that value high-quality teaching, inclusion, and pupil achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inspiring DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Teach a broad DT curriculum, including design, practical workshop activities, and product development
- Adapt teaching and learning activities to support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
- Create a positive and purposeful learning environment that promotes creativity, problem-solving, and good behaviour
- Use effective demonstrations, practical tasks, and differentiated activities to make DT lessons accessible and engaging
- Assess progress, provide constructive feedback, and support pupil development in DT
- Build positive working relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to promote learning and wellbeing
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred, although strong secondary teaching experience in DT will also be considered
- A passionate and engaging teaching style with confidence in delivering DT lessons
- Strong subject knowledge across the DT curriculum
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the classroom
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education
