About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work Monday to Friday, 8:50am–1:15pm, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs across the school. This is not a one-to-one role. Instead, you will work flexibly with a variety of pupils and classes, providing targeted support, leading small-group interventions and assisting teachers in delivering inclusive learning opportunities. The role is initially offered from September until October half-term, with the potential for further opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs.
  • Deliver small-group and individual interventions where required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to support learning across different classes.
  • Promote pupils’ confidence, independence and engagement in the classroom.
  • Support pupils’ communication, emotional wellbeing and social development.
  • Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people, particularly those with SEND.
  • Experience working with pupils with additional needs is essential.
  • Teaching Assistant qualifications are welcomed but not essential.
  • A patient, positive and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
