Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)

Connex Education is working in partnership with the Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust to recruit a part-time SEND Teaching Assistants to join a dedicated support team from September 2026.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who is looking for 1-5 days per week to work in local primary schools.
The roles vary in one-to-one, small groups and general TA work.
With roles starting as soon as possible – daily, short and long term positions becoming available.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs.
- Deliver small-group and individual interventions where required.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to support learning across different classes.
- Promote pupils’ confidence, independence and engagement in the classroom.
- Support pupils’ communication, emotional wellbeing and social development.
- Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Contribute to creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children or young people, particularly those with SEND.
- Experience working with pupils with additional needs is essential.
- Teaching Assistant qualifications are welcomed but not essential.
- A patient, positive and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
