We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming Ofsted-rated Good primary academy in B20 1ND, serving approximately 380 pupils aged 2–11. The school is built around its PRIDE values – Perseverance, Respect, Independence, Diversity and Excellence – and is recognised for its inclusive culture, high expectations and supportive leadership team.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEMH Teacher with QTS to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

The Role

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs and additional barriers to learning
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and personalised support plans
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching where required
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and positive outcomes for all learners
  • Work closely with SENCOs, pastoral teams and external agencies where appropriate

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
  • Experience working with SEMH, SEND or vulnerable pupils
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Experience planning and delivering differentiated lessons
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to provide two recent professional references
