The Role
We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Tutor to join our growing home tuition team. You will provide personalised one-to-one support for pupils in the Sutton Coldfield area who may present with behavioural needs, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) challenges, EHCPs, and additional SEN needs. The role focuses on building positive relationships, improving engagement with learning, and supporting pupils to develop emotional regulation, confidence, and social skills through consistent and nurturing support.
Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday availability
- Minimum 2 hours per day per pupil (additional hours available)
- Opportunities across Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Harborne, Wolverhampton, and surrounding areas
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-to-one tuition and behaviour support tailored to individual learning needs and EHCP outcomes
- Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Support pupils to develop emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence
- Build positive relationships with pupils and families
- Help pupils re‑engage with learning and education routines
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents and professionals
- Create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Teaching or tutoring experience (QTS or non‑QTS) is essential
- Experience supporting learners with SEMH, behavioural needs, and SEN
- Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills
- A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach
- Experience working in schools, alternative provisions, or youth settings is desirable
- Driving preferred but not essential
