SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Bridgwater and Surrounding Areas Salary: £93 – £110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications) Start Date: September 2026
About the Role Connex Education is currently looking for SEND Teaching Assistants to support primary-aged pupils within schools across Bridgwater and the surrounding area. We offer a variety of flexible and long-term opportunities for individuals who are passionate about helping children with additional needs overcome barriers to learning and achieve success in the classroom. Working as part of a supportive school team, you'll provide valuable assistance to pupils requiring additional educational and emotional support.
Responsibilities
Support pupils with SEND during lessons and structured activities Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions Assist children in developing confidence and independence Encourage positive behaviour and classroom participation Adapt support techniques to meet individual learning requirements Work collaboratively with teachers and SEND staff Support children's wellbeing and emotional development Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment Requirements
SEND experience is advantageous but not essential Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is beneficial Caring, patient, and adaptable approach Excellent communication skills Passion for supporting young learners Understanding of safeguarding procedures Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply Why join Connex Education?
