Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Needed! Bath & Surrounding Areas £110 - £130 per day September 2026 Starts

Connex Education is recruiting enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across primary schools in Bath and the surrounding areas. We are working exclusively with a large and highly respected Multi-Academy Trust that supports a wide network of primary schools across the South West. The Trust is recognised for its inclusive ethos, strong community values, and commitment to high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils. Their schools place a strong emphasis on wellbeing, collaboration, and ensuring every child is supported to achieve their full potential.

We are looking for confident and skilled HLTAs who can support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. This role involves leading learning, delivering interventions, and supporting classroom teaching across a range of settings.

The Role

  • Deliver planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher (where required)
  • Support teaching and learning across primary age groups
  • Lead targeted small group and 1:1 interventions
  • Support pupils within the main classroom environment
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement support plans and EHCP targets
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and well-structured learning environment
  • Support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Adapt confidently across different primary school settings

What We’re Looking For

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience working at HLTA level
  • Experience working within UK primary schools
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and professional approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Experience supporting SEND (ASD, ADHD, SPD, SEMH, SLCN) is highly desirable
