About the Role

Connex Education is looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Unqualified Teaching Assistants in primary schools across Taunton from September 2026. We have a range of opportunities available, including flexible daily supply work, short-term placements, and longer-term assignments. Working in supportive school environments, you will help pupils engage in learning and contribute to their educational journey while developing your own skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to encourage participation
  • Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials
  • Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development

Person Specification

  • Experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential
  • Suitable backgrounds may include childcare, coaching, youth work, customer service, tutoring, or care work
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, adaptable, and professional approach
  • Passion for supporting children to achieve their best
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through Connex Education
