QTS Art & Design Technology Teacher

Connex Education are looking for a qualified and experienced Art and Design Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in the Derby area on a full-time basis.
This is a genuine teaching role with a full timetable, so the successful candidate will need to be confident taking responsibility for their own classes and delivering engaging lessons across Art and Design Technology.
The Role
The successful teacher will be responsible for:
- Teaching Art and Design Technology across the school
- Delivering a full timetable of lessons
- Planning and preparing lessons independently
- Marking and assessing pupils’ work
- Managing behaviour effectively within the classroom
- Ensuring lessons are engaging, practical and accessible to all pupils
- Following schemes of work while adapting lessons where required
- Supporting pupils to develop their creative, practical and technical skills
- Working positively with colleagues and contributing to the wider school environment
The Ideal Candidate
The school must have a teacher with QTS, along with strong experience teaching both Art and Design Technology.
You will need:
- QTS – essential
- Proven experience teaching Art
- Experience teaching a range of Design Technology subjects
- Confidence teaching a full timetable
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Experience planning, marking and assessing your own lessons
- A creative and engaging approach to teaching
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Flexibility and the ability to settle quickly into a new school
This would suit an experienced teacher who is confident across both Art and DT and is ready to take on a full teaching timetable from the outset.
