Connex Education is working with a welcoming and supportive SEN school in North London to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This temp-to-perm role is a great opportunity to support pupils with additional needs in a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

About the Role / Setting

The school is committed to providing tailored support for pupils with SEN and additional learning needs. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and specialist staff to help pupils access learning and develop confidence. The role will involve supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom, including 1:1 and small-group work. The position is available to start ASAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN and additional learning needs.
• Support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing.
• Work alongside teachers and SEN staff to implement individual support strategies.
• Help create a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and the wider school community.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with pupils with SEN is desirable.
• Strong transferable experience supporting children or young people will be considered.
• A patient, enthusiastic and supportive approach.
• Confidence supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
• A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs achieve their potential.
• Fluent in English with effective communication skills.
• Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references.
