Supply Nursery Nurse
Location: Ellesmere Port, with opportunities across Merseyside and Cheshire | Pay: £13.69–£14.50 per hour | Contract: Flexible supply, shift rota, minimum 16 hours per week
Connex Education is working with a warm, close-knit nursery to recruit a Supply Nursery Nurse in Ellesmere Port. This flexible role is ideal for a caring early years professional who wants to make a positive difference while planning work around their lifestyle. You will have the opportunity to support children aged 0–5 across baby, toddler and pre-school rooms, depending on your experience and interests.

About the Role / Setting
The nursery provides a warm and nurturing environment where trusted relationships are central to everyday practice. Its experienced team includes several long-standing practitioners, creating consistency and stability for children. You will support day-to-day nursery routines, contribute to play-based learning and help children grow into happy, confident and curious learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children aged 0–5.
- Support engaging play, learning activities and educational programmes in line with the EYFS.
- Work collaboratively with nursery colleagues to support daily routines and room organisation.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and team members.
- Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming learning environment.
- Follow nursery policies, including health and safety, safeguarding and hygiene procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum Level 2 relevant childcare qualification and early years experience.
- Good knowledge of the EYFS and a genuine passion for child development.
- Strong communication skills and a warm, professional approach.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Driving licence is preferred but not essential.
- Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references.
