Candidate Administrator – Bristol
Connex Education | £26,000–£28,000 per annum | 3-Month Temporary Placement | Full Training Provided
Are you organised, accurate and someone who loves getting things done?
Are you a great communicator, confident picking up the phone and able to juggle multiple tasks without letting the details slip?
If you’re someone who takes pride in being organised, enjoys helping people and thrives in a busy environment, we’d love to hear from you!
Connex Education is looking for a proactive and organised Candidate Administrator to join our friendly Bristol team on an initial 3-month temporary placement, with the potential to extend depending on business needs.
This is a key role within our recruitment team, supporting our candidates through the compliance process and helping ensure they’re fully cleared and ready to work in education.
You don’t need previous recruitment experience. What we’re really looking for is someone with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, a proactive attitude and the ability to stay organised in a fast‑paced environment.
What will you be doing?
As a Candidate Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in helping our candidates get compliant and ready to work in schools.
Working closely with our sales team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Chasing references and liaising with referees to ensure these are received in a timely manner.
• Managing candidate compliance by checking, reviewing and processing the documentation required for candidates to work.
• Applying for Enhanced DBS checks and monitoring progress to help ensure candidates are cleared as quickly as possible.
• Checking candidate documentation carefully to ensure all relevant information is accurate, complete and meets our requirements.
• Meeting candidates face-to-face to check and verify original documents, including identity and other relevant paperwork.
• Ensuring candidates complete the required training and following up where anything is outstanding.
• Communicating regularly with candidates by phone, email and Teams video calls to explain what’s needed, answer queries and keep them updated.
• Maintaining accurate candidate records and keeping our systems up to date.
• Supporting our sales team by helping candidates progress through the compliance process and become ready for work.
• Taking ownership of outstanding tasks, prioritising your workload and proactively chasing anything that could delay a candidate’s clearance.
No two days will be exactly the same, and you’ll need to be comfortable managing several tasks at once while ensuring nothing gets missed.

Who are we looking for?

  • Highly organised with excellent administration and time‑management skills.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented – getting the details right is absolutely essential in this role.
  • A confident communicator who is comfortable speaking to people over the phone, via Teams and face-to-face.
  • Proactive and able to use their initiative, rather than waiting to be told what to do next.
  • A strong multitasker who can manage competing priorities and work at pace.
  • Confident chasing outstanding information and following things through to completion.
  • Quick to learn new systems, processes and ways of working.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing their own workload when required.
  • A positive team player who enjoys supporting others and helping the wider team succeed.
  • Reliable, professional and able to handle confidential information appropriately.

Previous administration, compliance, recruitment or customer service experience would be beneficial, but it’s not essential. Full training will be provided, so we’re happy to consider someone with the right attitude, skills and work ethic.
