Are you a Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker or Support Worker with experience working with children who display challenging behaviour?
We are recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor / Youth Worker to join a supportive specialist SEMH primary school in Knowle, Solihull.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with children and has a genuine interest in behaviour, psychology and mental health.
About the School:
The school supports primary-aged pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, including challenging behaviour and emotional regulation difficulties.
The setting provides a structured, nurturing environment where staff work closely with pupils to develop positive relationships, confidence, emotional regulation and engagement with learning.
The school has a supportive staff team and focuses on helping pupils overcome barriers to education.
The Role:
You will support pupils both individually and within the classroom, helping them to manage their behaviour and emotions while encouraging positive engagement with learning.
The role will involve:
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting challenging and dysregulated behaviour
- Helping children develop emotional regulation strategies
- Supporting pupils to engage with learning
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Maintaining consistent boundaries and routines
- Working closely with teachers and the wider support team
Strong experience supporting challenging behaviour is essential.
Experience or an interest in Psychology, Mental Health, Counselling, Youth Work or Child Development would be highly beneficial.
Team Teach training would be an advantage but is not essential.
