About the Role:
Connex Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist secondary school in Hartlepool. The provision provides education for young people aged 11-16 with a range of special educational needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting your teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students. Assignment Details:
Plan and deliver differentiated science lessons across biology, chemistry, and physics
Develop individualised learning programmes to support students with varying needs
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff
Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to reviews
Support students in achieving their potential through alternative qualifications and pathways
Contribute to the school\’s positive behaviour management approach

As a successful SEND Teacher with Connex Education Partnership, you will possess:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in Science or related subject
Experience teaching science at secondary level
Understanding of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices
Strong behaviour management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
Experience working with students with SEN
Knowledge of alternative qualifications (Entry Level, Functional Skills)
Additional training in autism or ADHD support
Experience with sensory learning approaches
