Connex Education is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work within a specialist educational setting in North Somerset from September 2026. We are looking for individuals interested in a mixture of flexible day-to-day supply work, short-term placements and long-term opportunities, supporting children and young people with additional needs.
The setting supports pupils aged approximately 4 to 19 years old with a range of complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), communication needs, sensory processing difficulties and associated medical needs. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in helping pupils access education, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals within a nurturing and supportive environment.
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the school day
- Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Assist with personal care where required, following appropriate training and guidance
- Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable but not essential. A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs is required, along with an understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
