We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist educational setting that supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who thrives on building positive relationships and making a lasting impact on the lives of young people.
The Role
- As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation, engagement and social development.
- You will play a key role in helping students access education, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting students with SEMH needs on a one-to-one and small group basis
- Building strong, trusting relationships with young people
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging learning activities
- Supporting students during challenging situations and helping them regulate emotions effectively
- Acting as a positive role model and mentor throughout the school day
- Contributing to behaviour support strategies and pastoral interventions

The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs or additional support needs
- Background in education, youth work, support work, coaching, mentoring, care or similar sectors is desirable
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building rapport
- Passion for helping young people overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes
